About…
Adam McVicker has been making art for as long as he can remember. His semi-feral, semi-farm childhood instilled a love of nature, creativity, and admiration for the craftsmanship of functional objects. From a young age he also developed a love of reading, fantasy and magic, which still continues to this day.
Adam pursued his love for Fine Arts at Kent State University, where he received classical training in Fine Arts and Crafts, as both a full and part-time student at the various campuses while he continued to work full-time as a production welder and steel fabricator. In 2012, he returned to school full-time to finish his degree, focusing on ceramics, and studied under the two artists who, subsequently, were the most influential on his work, Eva Kwong and the late Kirk Mangus.
Adam currently teaches various pottery classes at Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster. When he’s not in the studio, you can find him on the couch with his wife, two daughters, and their five dogs, watching movies or playing video games.
